History of NPC  
 
In 1972, Mr. Nilu Prasad Chowdhury, founded the group, which later became the NPC Group, with the specific aim of extending work opportunities to the people of Bengal.This group strove through hardships and has at present a firm foothold, by the kind co-operation of this big family. The organization was conceptualized by Mr.N.P.Chowdhury to fulfill the needs of the commercial world. Since those early years of infancy, this group has really matured today under his guidance and supervision.
NPC Group, came into existence in 1972, with an aim to export Bicycles and Plant & Machinery overseas. These included Mini Cement Plant, Steel Re-rolling mill, Mini Steel Plant, Cold Storage, Ice Plant, Poultry Machineries & Equipments, etc
 

After a decade, in 1982, the group installed its own Steel Re-rolling mill. This mill manufactured M.S. Round, M.S. Angle, etc, and even marketed within Bengal.
The Steel Re-rolling mill was followed by the Fish Freezing Complex in 1984, where the fishes were further processed for exporting to the overseas countries.


The Chemical Plant, named PUSHPA CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES which soon followed in 1988, manufactured Acid Slurry for making detergent powder and cakes. This chemical was supplied to TATA Oil Mill and other local markets. Here, NPC Group develops a goodwill for the TATA Group. And this results to another business between the two groups. In 1989, NPC Group was asked by the TATA Group tomanufacture their detergent cakes and powder. The company under NPC Group which manufactured the detergents for TATA was SUNNY DETERGENT PVT. LTD. They manufactured OK Detergent Powder and 501 Bar Detergent Soap, under the brand name of TATA, whichwas then marketed by the TATA Group, covering the whole of Eastern India.

 
After the grand success of the business between NPC Group and the TATA Group,another golden opportunity knocked at the doors of our company.SHAW WALLACE & CO.LTD, a renowned name in the commercial world, stepped forward to manufacture their products named CHEK DETERGENT POWDER and CHEK DETERGENT CAKE by NPC Group which was marketed by the SHAW WALLACE personnels, which covered the whole of Eastern India.


Later on, NPC Group was influenced to such an extreme, that in 1991, this group installed a manufacturing unit – NPC DETERGENT PVT. LTD.At present, there are detergent cakes and powders, under this brand name,in the market, such as, NPC Detergent Powder, NPC Detergent Cake, NPC’s APU Detergent Powder, NPC’s TINA Cleaning Powder, etc. These products are even exported.

 
Under NPC Group, once again emerged two companies in the name of TINA COSMETICS PVT LTD and KEYA COSMETICS PVT LTD, which exported cosmetic products to U.S.S.R, and even to local markets. Soon after the export of cosmetic products, the group came up again with anew company. This time it was a real estate organization, in the name of NPC PROPERTIES PVT LTD.


Motivated by the previous Export experiences, NPC Group once again came up with NPC AGRO EXPORTERS PVT. LTD, in 1996, under which Button Mushrooms were manufactured as well as exported.

Even after all these activities, Mr. N.P.Chowdhury’s satisfaction was unable to meet its peak. He felt heart-broken when he saw, the young generation striving for good education, and finally landing-up in some other cities or countries in search of proper education and job. It was then, when he started thinking for the welfare of the young generation. His aim was to nurture the young talents, who would later on serve this State, and never wander away from their homes.


Trust    
Hence, after much research about the Education Industry, the NPC Group finally got their Trust registered under the name of NPC MEDICAL SCIENCE AND RESEARCH FOUNDATION, in 2003. Within this Trust is NPC DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL. The Dental Hospital was inaugurated in 2004, and is running successfully with the co-operation of all our doctors in the Hospital. We are glad to announce the huge response, that we have received since the hospital has been declared open. The Hospital target has always been to serve the people even better than before, and to care about each patient economically. The Dental College session, starting from 2007-08, includes the course of B.D.S (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).

  NPC Sports Academy  



NPC Sports Academy, a full fledged football club in Bengal of Women owned by the group was established in 1996 under the supervision of IFA (Indian Football Association). The Group used to hire the top rated Women Footballers from across the country from its various states such as Manipur, Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Orissa etc and others for State Club Championships & Tournaments.

The team in 1998 holds a record in SUPER LEAGUE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP by defeating the INCOME TAX TEAM in the Finals held at HALDIA,West Bengal.

The Group is grooming well the team for the future as Football has always been the favourite sport in Bengal besides Cricket now a days.

The Group’s vision is to ensure the maximum promotion of Football in coming years & to attract the youngsters towards the game so that the game can be valued high with other popular sports also.
